About me

David Fullerton

Bio

My name is David Fullerton, and Banff has been my family’s cherished home for two decades. I am a dedicated professional and business owner, having built a successful chiropractic practice that has allowed me to connect with residents from every corner of our community. I’ve had the privilege of serving people of all ages, from tourists and temporary residents to young families starting their lives here and our valued seniors. I have come to deeply understand the needs and concerns that touch every aspect of life in our town.

My roots are firmly planted in Banff; my daughter was born and raised here, and my two senior parents are active members of our community. I’ve seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing our town by all its residents. My personal and professional life is deeply intertwined with the well-being of this town. I have witnessed both its triumphs and its challenges, and it is my profound love for this special town and its community that motivates me to step forward and serve on Town Council.

Mission Statement

I am running for Town Council because I believe it's time for me to give back to the community I love. Most residents I've talked to are concerned about two pressing issues: the critical shortage of affordable housing and the persistent problem of congestion. Congestion is not just about cars and tourists. It’s a complex issue that affects every one of us, from our commute to our quality of life. The housing crisis is directly impacting our ability to keep families and essential workers in our community. These challenges are big, but I believe they require creative, hands-on solutions, and I would like to serve the residents by giving them a voice at the table to make sure we find them.

My background as a health care provider has taught me to listen carefully, diagnose the root of a problem, and work collaboratively to develop effective plans. My experience as a small business owner, living and raising a family here, gives me a grounded, day-to-day perspective. I know what local families need, how important tourism is to our economy, and the daily struggles of those who work and live here. My time serving on boards like the Daycare Society of Banff and other community event committees has only deepened my commitment to collaborative work.

If I'm on Town Council, I'll be a voice for our community—committed to listening and working together to find lasting solutions. My goal is simple: to balance the needs of our residents with those of our local businesses, while not placing the visitor experience as a priority over the residential experience. I want to make sure Banff is not just a great place to visit but remains a great place to live for everyone, from our seniors to the next generation.
